The introduction of a Digital Product Passport (DPP) is currently being discussed intensively in the EU. There are already precise requirements for batteries, and discussions are still ongoing for other products.
In Switzerland, the Mattress Alliance wants to set the first course for introducing a DPP for mattresses and thus promote the recycling of mattresses. The information stored on the DPP enables stakeholders along the entire value chain to optimise their activities with regard to pre-sorting and processing. Information on the environmental impact of the respective mattress should also be available on the DPP in order to empower customers to purchase a sustainable mattress.
