Packaging in the Circular Economy
Experience innovation and sustainability up close at our cycletalk “Packaging in the Circular Economy – design, reuse, recycle.”
Packaging is ubiquitous in our society, and its potential for closing loops is significant. There are starting points for this along the entire value chain. Our program at the 10th cycletalk offers exciting presentations and discussions on current focal points of this topic:
- The foundation for a closed loop can be laid with packaging design. We present the latest recommendations on this from a scientific study by ZHAW and realcycle.
- Reusable packaging closes loops during the usage phase. In everyday life, they are currently still confronted with some hurdles. A contribution to the Take-Away System reCIRCLE will bring you closer to the current research and implementation in this area.
- In order for packaging to be recycled after use, processing steps are necessary. You will gain insights into the latest innovations in cleaning processes and the use of artificial intelligence in sorting.
- In general, to identify effective starting points, it is helpful to know the material flows and locations where the packaging is used. In this regard, we have investigated commercial and industrial packaging in Switzerland and will present the results.
Take the opportunity to network and end the day with a joint apéro!
