Follow-up event to cycleworks – Plastics in Construction Part 1 (participation is possible separately).
Content
cycleworks serves as an exchange platform to create a deeper and more focused understanding of an overarching system on a specific topic together with various stakeholders, to identify problems and to actively think about concrete solutions and their implementation.
The goal of the cycleworks series – Plastics in Construction is to involve stakeholders along the entire value chain in the construction industry: Building Owners, Planners, Manufacturers, Contractors, Deconstruction and Recycling Companies, as well as Consultants and Regulators – all are welcome, and only together can we find viable solutions.
This series currently consists of two consecutive meetings. In the first exchange, we started with a focus on recycling, regulations, and enforcement. From the discussions held and the inputs received at this event, we have derived the following five key topics. We would like to use the cycleworks series and work together
- Develop a factsheet «Recycling potential of materials / components»,
- Address the implementation of separate collection for deconstruction NOW,
- set up a pilot project / test site,
- develop Guidelines for Design for Recycling / Circularity, and/or
- formulate a «wish list» to the authorities at the national and cantonal level.
As part of the 2nd exchange, these ideas will be expanded upon and jointly explored to determine how they can be further pursued. There will also be time to discuss further ideas and exchange information with the other participants.
Output
At the end, participants will receive a «fact sheet» prepared by realcycle with the most important findings from the cycleworks.
Background information and further details can be found in the cycleworks – Plastics in Construction project.
