cycleworks - High quality plastics recycling Switzerland
Closing plastic loops requires dialog between all stakeholders along the value chain. This is precisely where cycleworks comes in,offering an open, cross-polymer exchange platform as part of the project QualiCycle - Initiative for high-quality plastics recycling in Switzerland .
The cycleworks - a further development of the cycleworks - Closing the loop PS Switzerland -creates space for targeted exchange, joint learning and the development of viable solutions - with a particular focus on applications in the food sector. Knowledge from existing polymer-specific projects is pooled and further developed in order to promote a closed loop for high-quality plastic, especially food packaging, in Switzerland more efficiently and effectively.
The platform is aimed at companies, organizations and institutions along the entire plastics value chain - regardless of the type of polymer, as many challenges do not affect individual materials, but the entire industry. Cooperation and systematic knowledge building create the basis for a circular plastics economy in Switzerland.
The main topics include:
- Technological developments and best practices for high-quality plastics recycling
- Challenges along the value chain, such as quality assurance and purity requirements
- Regulatory framework in Switzerland and the EU
- Infrastructure Development in Switzerland
Format from cycleworks
The meetings take place three times a year over the course of two years - moderated by realcycle and building on each other. They provide the latest updates on legal and technical framework conditions and create a space for knowledge sharing and joint solution approaches. There are clear compliance rules - e.g. no commercial topics are discussed and no market player may be excluded from a future solution.
