Together with the developers, we will be presenting the Packaging Cockpit at EMPACK. Because while the protective function, marketing and convenience for customers are often at the center of packaging development, sustainable packaging must be able to do much more: It must be recyclable and ecologically optimized.
The Packaging Cockpit tool can be used to calculate the technical recyclability and life cycle assessment of packaging systems. It can be linked across the value chain, which promotes collaboration and closing the loop. Furthermore, the Packaging Cockpit enables efficient data management and transparent reporting. This is particularly important for export-oriented companies, as it can also be used to meet the new legal obligations (e.g. PPWR).
As part of the SVI Packaging Talks, we also have the opportunity to present an application of the tool: Together with Ernst Krottendorfer (Packaging Cockpit) and Jürg Hofer and Bendicht Zaugg (Emmi), we will be able to show the largest Swiss application to date.
