Fit for PPWR - Your guide to compliance
The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) introduces clear and binding requirements for packaging in the EU. Swiss companies are also affected by this—especially if they manufacture packaging or packaging materials that are placed on the market in the EU, or sell their own (packaged) products in the EU.
The PPWR came into force last year; the first binding requirements will come into force shortly. From August 12, 2026, only PPWR-compliant packaging may be placed on the market. Are you prepared for this? If not, we can provide you with targeted support along the way.
We offer comprehensive, practical support tailored to your needs. Together, we will review your current situation, ensure compliance, or provide structured support until you achieve full PPWR compliance.
The following work packages describe our approach. We would be happy to provide you with a specific quote tailored to your individual requirements.
Our work packages for PPWR compliance
This is what your journey to PPWR compliance could look like. Depending on your packaging portfolio and the status of clarifications already made, individual steps can be reduced or omitted entirely.
Goal: Together, we will identify your challenges and outline the path to solving them by August 12, 2026.
Procedure:
- Arrange a non-binding, free initial consultation (email, phone)
- Fill out the questionnaire and receive more specific suggestions for our consultation
- Joint workshop (4 hours) to assess your current situation. Development of a PPWR roadmap for your company (Price: CHF 950; plus travel expenses): Book a workshop
Objective: We will show you what rights and obligations you have and where you still need to take action.
We will answer the following questions for you:
- What is your role with regard to the PPWR and what duties are associated with it?
- Is all the necessary information about the packaging available to comply with these obligations?
- How can the missing information be compiled by August 12, 2026?
Objective: All necessary data is available to assess packaging compliance and to file the technical documentation in full.
We support you in this endeavor.
- keeping track of what is still missing
- when entering the data into a suitable digital system/tool
- when requesting data from your material and packaging suppliers
Objective: You can create the declaration of conformity.
We support you,
- by conducting recyclability assessments
- with regard to proof of compliance with pollutant limits (excluding laboratory analyses)
- for packaging adjustments to minimize waste, use recycled materials, and promote reusability
- advising on correct labeling
Ongoing support for changes
The journey does not end on August 12—that's when it really begins. New packaging or packaging variants must be continuously checked for conformity. It is also important to incorporate new specifications with sufficient lead time as soon as they are finalized or the new deadlines come into effect.
We stay on the ball, keep you up to date, and support you whenever necessary.
