As part of the event «KLW konkret – Verpackungen optimieren», we shared our expertise in circular economy and packaging optimization with members of the «Made in Zürich Initiative». While the participants developed creative solutions, we supported them with technical expertise.
Keynote speech on the concrete implementation of the circular economy for packaging
With a keynote speech, Melanie Haupt introduced the attendees to the fundamentals of the circular economy in the packaging sector. The focus was on the sustainability of the circular economy per se and the environmental impact of the packaged product. It covered circular economy strategies and the integration of circular flows in the design process. The presentation and the core messages extracted from it can be downloaded here.
Workshop on innovative, recyclable packaging
Subsequently, together with Eva Bucherer from Circular Business Models, we led a workshop. The aim of the workshop was to put the previously imparted knowledge into practice. In small groups, the participants developed requirement catalogs for packaging in various application areas, sketched packaging, and planned its circular flow. While they developed creative and innovative approaches, we supported them with technical expertise.
We would also be happy to supplement your event with an input workshop on applied topics related to the circular economy. Get in touch with us here!
Interview with Sustainable Switzerland
As part of the event, Sustainable Switzerland, an initiative of the NZZ, conducted an interview with Melanie Haupt on the topic of packaging in the circular economy. The discussion addressed the tension between customer perceptions and scientific findings, the switch to sustainable packaging on the part of companies, and the role of the public in this issue.
